General
Submission of a manuscript to the Editor involves the assurance that it is original, and that no similar paper, other than an abstract or an oral or poster presentation, has been or will be submitted for publication elsewhere, without the consent of the Editorial Board.
Research papers, papers read at Symposia and Reviews may be submitted. Research papers should describe original investigations or technological achievements. Reviews should be critical evaluations of existing knowledge in a specialized field. The journal also accepts short communications.
The language of publication is English. Every paper will be referred to at least two referees familiar with the field of research covered by the paper, who will be nominated by the Editorial Board. Papers are edited to increase clarity and ease of communication.
Presentation of Manuscripts
The maximum length of contribution is 5000 words including figures, tables and references. The papers should be written clearly and concisely. All unnecessary textual matter, figures and tables must be eliminated. In general, the impersonal form should be used.
Manuscripts should be submitted in Triplicate including the original typewritten copy-typed throughout in double spacing on one side of A 4 paper with 3.75 cm wide left margin and 2.5 cm wide top, bottom and right margins. Letters should be typed in Times New Roman with font size of 12pt. The typescript should be free of corrections. Although a rigid format is not insisted, it is usually convenient to divide the papers into sections such as Title, Abstract, Key Words, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusions, Acknowledgements and References.
Title
The title should be concise and appropriately informative for retrieval by modern search techniques. The name of the institute where the research was carried out should be stated with author's name. Present address of the authors should be given as footnotes.
Running title
A short title not exceeding 45 characters should be provided for the running title.
Abstract
This should state concisely the scope of the work and the principal findings and should be suitable for direct use by abstracting journals. It should not exceed 200 words.
Key Words
Key words (not exceeding six words) should be chosen from the manuscript. Avoid choosing key words from the Title. They should be in alphabetical order and separated by commas.
Foot Notes
Footnotes within the text should be used only when essential.
Introduction
Introductory material including a review of literature should not exceed what is necessary to indicate the reason for the work and the essential background.
Heading
Heading of major sections should be centered and subsection headings should be placed on the left of the page.
Paging
Each page of the manuscript should be numbered in the bottom centre of the page. The last page should contain (a) a note as to the number of manuscript pages, figures and tables and (b) proposed running title.
Illustrations
All illustrations are considered as figures and each graph, drawing or photograph should be numbered in sequence with Arabic numerals. Authors must submit the original and two duplicates of each figure. Figures should be planned to fit the proportions of the printed page. The maximum space available for a page is 120x150mm. Each figure should carry a legend. The preferred position of all illustrations should be indicated in pencil in the manuscript. For the final submission it is essential to develop the figures either in tiff or jpeg format.
Photographs
Good glossy prints with sharp contrasts between black and white areas should accompany the manuscripts. The size should be such that when the print is reduced to the normal size for reproduction (120x150mm maximum) the detail is still clear. Magnification should be indicated with a scale line on the photograph. Figure number should be given on the back of the each paper. Colour photographs are not encouraged.
Tables
Tables should not repeat data, which are available elsewhere in the paper. Each table should be typed on a separate sheet with due regard for the proportions of the printed page. They should be numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals. Tabulated matter should be clearly set out and the number of columns in each table should be kept as low as possible. Tables should have legends which make their general meaning clear without reference to the text and all table columns should have explanatory headings. Units of measure should be indicated in parentheses in the heading of each column. Vertical lines should not be used and horizontal rules used only in the headings and at the bottom.
Foot notes to the tables are to be placed directly below the table. The preferred position of tables should be indicated in pencil in the manuscript.
References
Special care must be taken in citing references correctly. Responsibility for the accuracy of these rests entirely with the authors. It is the author's responsibility to obtain written permission to reproduce material, which has appeared in another publication.
All references to publications made in the text should be presented in a list of references at the end of the paper. The manuscripts should be carefully checked to ensure that the spelling of author's names and dates are exactly the same in the text as in the reference list.

Abbreviations and Symbols
They are according to the recommendation in various parts of British Standards, 1991: Letter symbol, sign and abbreviation should be used. Authors are encouraged to use SI system of units.
Formulae and Equations
Formulae should be type written, leaving ample space around the formulae. They should be started on the left margin and the number placed in parentheses to the right of the equation. Take special care to show the difference between zero (0) and letter “O”and between one (1) and the letter “I”. Give the meaning of all symbols immediately after the equation in which they are first used. Parentheses and square brackets are preferred in formulae.
Short Communication
The journal may include a limited number of short communications. Authors should submit short communications only when they believe that rapid publication of their results is of utmost importance. A short communication should not exceed 1200 words, inclusive of illustrations and tables. Short communications should be complete in their own right and suitable for citation. The title should indicate the content clearly as these papers do not carry abstracts.
Submission of Electronic Version of Manuscripts
The electronic version may be submitted at the time of acceptance of the manuscript for publication with the revised manuscript. Floppy disk or CD is acceptable. The electronic version should match with the hard copy. The floppy disk or CD should be labeled corresponding author's name and the name of the file.
Proofs
Corrected proofs must be returned to the Editor without delay. Failure to do so will result in delay in publication. Correction of proofs by authors must be restricted to the printers and similar errors. They should be marked in pencil.
Offprints
Ten off-prints will be supplied free of charge for each article. Additional offprints can be ordered on the offprint order form, which will accompany the proofs.
Copyright
Once the paper is accepted a copyright transfer form will be sent along with the proofs. It should be duly filled, signed and sent to the editor along with the proofs.
Address
State your address in a separate page as an attachment. It is important to keep the editor informed of any change in your address.
